GGPoker Continues Its Legal Expansion

A few years ago, the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina regulated the online gambling market. As a result, well-known poker brands (888Poker, partypoker, Unibet, GGPoker) left the country to assess the new legal situation.

In May 2025, GGPoker announced its return to Bosnia and Herzegovina with the launch of the local site ggpokeradria.ba.

The new gaming client is available in Bosnian, features local deposit and withdrawal methods, and provides access to the global gaming pool.

The first legal poker room in the country?

Bosnia and Herzegovina has one of the most confusing online gambling regulations in Europe, as the country consists of three administrative units (the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Srpska, and Brcko District), each with its own licensing rules. In fact, to operate legally throughout the country, it is necessary to obtain a license in all three federal entities and reach agreements with local companies.

GGPoker operates in the country in partnership with DTM d.o.o. Brcko Distrikt BiH, which is licensed by the Brcko District. Meanwhile, the local poker room Wwin Poker, licensed in the Republic of Srpska, has been accepting players from all over the country without issue.

GGPoker will almost certainly soon resolve its license with the other two entities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This will translate into a significant advantage over PokerStars and WPT Global, which continue to operate in the country with an international license.

This country has recently seen renewed interest in the online gaming market, especially among young people. According to projections, revenue from this industry could exceed €45 million by 2025. It is quite possible that local laws will be unified in the future to facilitate new operators' entry into the market.
