Wiktor Malinowski and a new high stakes record on GGNetwork
GGNetwork is finally tackling down PokerStars as the preferred platform for high rollers. We took this from the last NLH $500/$1,000 sessions we spotted with the Belarusian pro Wiktor Malinowski, that involved a massive pot ($842,437) and a stack of more than $1,7M.
The largest stack in GGNetwork history
A few days ago, we shared that PLO nosebleeds games were back to GGNetwork, with Leon Tsukernik and Wiktor Malinowski as main protagonists. The businessman was even able to set a record for the largest stack in cash games (over $1,100,000 at PLO200/400) in GGNetwork history.
But this week, $500/$1,000 tables were added to the lobby, and the action moved there. Hundreds of people watched it directly in the client, and several Twitch channels streamed the action. On the first day, Wiktor was challenged by the Chinese player Tan "tan4321" Shuang, also known for playing the Triton Poker series.
The most massive pot involved Wiktor and Michael Adamo. The classic AA vs. KK cost the whole Canadian stack.
Malinowski won the largest pot in GGNetwork history for $842,437.62.
At this pace, the world record of $1,356,947 may soon be broken. This belongs to Viktor Bloom and Patrik Antonius since 2009.
A stack of nearly two million dollars
Tsoukernik's record lasted only ten days. The launch of even higher tables with a mandatory straddle leads to massive stacks and pots.
Moreover, other professional players joined the action, including Isaac Haxton, Fedor Holz, Timofey Kuznetsov, and Jason Koon. Due to the quantity of people willing to play $500/$1,000, two tables were played at once.
Wiktor Malinowski had a stack of over $1,717,000
All indicate that this new record will be broken soon, possibly by him. Malinowski said on Joey Ingram's podcast that he was ready to play against anyone at any stake (he only restricted the game versus Llinus Loeliger to NL40k).
