Why is iPoker Network growing?

Those of our readers who played in 2017-2019 should remember that the skins of the iPoker Network were in a complex situation. However, after that, the Network was able to show significant growth, although the only novelty over the past few years was restricting table selection.

According to PokerScout, iPoker doubled the average weekly number of cash players from the winter of 2019-2020 to the winter of 2021-2022: from 600 to 1,200. We highlight not only low stakes grew but also NL50-NL600.

We monitored the lobby of one of the rooms of the Network and counted the following number of tables during the European night:

These figures for Hold'em and Omaha are higher than in mid-December and much better than in the summer of 2020 (when several rooms from the closed MPN switched to iPoker) or 2021 (when the network caught up with 888Poker and partypoker in terms of traffic).

Why was iPoker able to show such, in fact, a phenomenal growth, which in recent history was reserved only for GGNetwork?

What's the secret of iPoker?

As we wrote above, in recent years, we cannot name many innovations that could increase the number of games. There are few formats (in fact, only 6-max NLH and PLO are played), and the promotions are standard (a loyalty program with up to 35% rakeback and monthly missions). Also, the client has not changed since 2016.

iPoker Network has gone through big changes in its composition. The boost from Microgaming occurred in the spring of 2020, and after that, BestPoker and Winner Poker shut down. The Covid boom has already passed, too.

The main reason for the growth in traffic since the end of 2020 is that iPoker was among the first to enter the legal markets of Switzerland and the Netherlands.

In the winter of 2022, the Network was lucky again: partypoker will stop accepting Russian players on February 14, and some grinders will switch there, although the flux of regulars may affect the field.

We hope that in such a situation, the Network will not "rest on its laurels, but take advantage of it and improve its software, add more games, bonuses, and instate more measures to attract casual traffic to start growing due to internal factors, like the so-called "grinder mode" announced by Joerg Nottebaum, head of the network, in an exclusive interview with WPD.
